Surf Inspired Summer

When NYFW Spring 2014 reports were identifying a surf trend for this season, I was smiling!  I love everything about the surf culture and am inspired by designers and stylemakers that are surfers themselves.  Like, Cynthia Rowley who got tired of the traditional unflattering black wetsuit, and made it colorful, functional and form-fitting for women.  Listen to what inspired her to design wetsuits on BloombergTV (below):

Aside from fashion, you can “live” the laid back lifestyle and check out various interpretations of the surf aesthetic in a room for a night or two.  Los Angeles architect, Barbara Bestor, was one of 10 designers, along with 10 companies to design 10 suites at the Casa Surf Project in Laguna Beach at La Casa del Camino Hotel.
