We are patching up the hard wood flooring in our kitchen and found a blue, faux-tile linoleum underneath. Here’s a view of the old, the new and the current (3 things).
When we had moved into our house six years ago, we had changed the stain on the hardwood floors in our kitchen from a natural oak to a darker stain to match the pumpkin pine flooring in the rest of the house. Who knew what existed underneath? We live in a house built in 1873, so clearly, the linoleum was not the original flooring. But if the walls of our house could speak, how cool would it be to learn more about the history of its design?
