For the Weekend: 3P’s – Painting, Packing and {Not} Procrastinating

This weekend we will be taking down our Christmas decorations.  We tend to procrastinate until around Martin Luther King weekend, and sometimes even longer.  We had a mild December with no snow (snow, sometimes the deterrent), so I want to tackle the task — take down the outdoor wreaths and lights, and dismantle our tree.  I don’t have a very sophisticated organizing system for putting away our decor.  Usually we recycle sturdy gift boxes (like the Vineyard Vines one in the photo) and reuse tissue paper to wrap up and store away ornaments.

Earlier in the week I picked up 3 gallons of recycled paint from The Paint Exchange for a couple of projects at home.  Two gallons are called “Chalk,” and the bluish-gray is called “Sophmachine.”  If we can squeeze it in, I’d really like to paint the kids’ bathroom too.

Have you already taken down your holiday decor?  Any eco-friendly organizing suggestions?
