Pantone’s Spring 2012 Color Report – Fashion

Pantone’s Spring 2012 Fashion Color Report is out and (as we had previewed from the runways at NYFW) you can plan on seeing vivid brights, lots of pastels and soft, natural neutrals.  Executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, says that consumers have learned how colors can alter a mood and provide enthusiasm.  The Pantone Spring 2012 colors reflect these moods — from vivacious brights to calming maritime blues — and give  1) “renewed energy,” 2) “optimism” and 3) “the promise of a brighter day.”

Here are Pantone’s Spring 2012 color palettes for Women’s and Men’s Fashion.

I love the Women’s pairing of Cabaret pink and Sodalite Blue…reminiscent of one of my favorite Mary McDonald rooms.

What will the 2012 Color of the Year be?  I’m guessing Sodalite Blue or Solar Power?   It’ll be interesting to find out later this Fall.  Regardless, here’s the full list:

A look back to the Spring 2011 colors — which, in comparison, were warmer tones inspired by exotic journeys.

Currently, the Fall 2011 palette — based on the sensibility of our past and the balance of old and new influences.
