Here we go again. Another school year, another 100+ lunches to make! Yesterday, the grocery store shelf for plastic sandwich bags was almost empty. I had to get onto my toes and use a box of Saran Wrap to reach up and slide over one of the last available boxes on the top shelf. 50 bags. A box of 50 bags is what was left! Argh! (I wanted a box of 100, or did I?) As I made my way to the checkout, I vowed to finally take the advice of my “green” friend, Veronica, and invest in reusable lunch containers.
Here are my top 3 picks.
1) EcoLunchboxes. Stainless steel containers in a set-of-3, along with an EcoLunchbag available in a bunch of pretty fabrics.
2) PlanetBox stainless steel lunch boxes have separate compartments for food and are very cool. They have designed magnets for kids to personalize the exterior, and there are insulated bags to place the stainless steel container into.
3) Another stainless steel option from LunchBots. These are individual containers, as opposed to an all-in-one, and can hold enough food for little mouths. This one is called the “Duo,” but other options include various sizes, shapes, and ones without dividers.
