Soho. Shopping. Sights.

While in New York, I spent a few hours shopping in Soho with a friend.  One of my favorite stops was at Ochre.  The furnishings in this store are the essence of my style – mixing old with new – and vary in selection from antiques and vintage pieces, to products made by artists and craftspeople under fair trade and green principles.  The grey and white sign together with the weathered storefront doors were especially inviting to me.

My favorite piece in the shop – the Arctic Pear Chandelier by Ochre.

We saw this great white-washed sideboard at Boca Grande on Greene Street.

Our next stop was the Isabel Marant store on the corner of Broome and Greene Streets.  As we were exiting the shop, my friend tapped me on the shoulder and whispered, “Hugh Jackman.”  I turned and loudly proclaimed, “Where?!” – only to see him walk right past us with his family down Greene.

Earlier in the day, we spotted a sight – only in New York…

Street ballet in Columbus Circle.
